The International Conference titled “Developing Quang Ninh into One of Vietnam’s Leading Muslim-Friendly Tourism Destinations” will take place on May 30, 2025, at Saigon Ha Long Hotel, Quang Ninh Province. The event is jointly organized by Halong University and the Institute for South Asian, West Asian and African Studies (ISAWAAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS).
Enhancing Capacity to Access the Global Halal Tourism Market
In the context of Vietnam’s deepening integration with Islamic countries and the global Halal tourism market, this conference is a practical initiative aimed at strengthening local capacity, sharing expertise, and proposing strategic solutions to develop Muslim-friendly tourism models in Vietnam – with a particular focus on Quang Ninh, a key tourism hub in Northern Vietnam.
Pursuant to Decision No. 10/QĐ-TTg dated February 14, 2023, by the Prime Minister approving the “Master Plan for Strengthening International Cooperation in Building and Developing Vietnam’s Halal Industry to 2030”, Halal tourism is identified as a strategic sector to attract Muslim travelers and expand Vietnam’s role in the global Halal service value chain.
Diverse and Practical Themes
The conference provides a platform for researchers, experts, businesses, policymakers, lecturers, and students to exchange views on:

Concepts, characteristics, and models of Muslim-friendly tourism;

Current status and development opportunities for Halal tourism in Quang Ninh and Vietnam;

International best practices in developing Halal-friendly destinations;

Policies, workforce training, investment, and service enhancement solutions;

Trends and lessons from Quang Ninh tourism for engaging the global Muslim market.
Academic Publishing Opportunities with ISBN Indexing
The Organizing Committee encourages the submission of full-length papers (5,000–7,000 words) in either Vietnamese or English. High-quality papers will be selected for publication in the official International Conference Proceedings with ISBN indexing, which are eligible for academic recognition under the National Professorship Council’s criteria.

A voluntary peer review fee of 1,500,000 VND per article is applicable to authors not affiliated with the organizing institutions. This contribution supports scientific review and event logistics and is encouraged but not mandatory.
