Toward Gender Equality: Vietnam Women’s Academy Invites Submissions for International Conference on Sustainable Development in Asia

Hanoi, Vietnam – In an effort to foster academic and policy dialogue on gender equality in sustainable development, the Vietnam Women’s Academy, in collaboration with the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES), cordially invites submissions for the upcoming International Scientific Conference titled:“Gender Equality and the Role of Women in Sustainable Development in Asia” The conference is scheduled to take place in November 2025 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

A Multidisciplinary Forum on Sustainability and Gender

The conference aims to establish an international academic platform where scholars, faculty members, policymakers, and practitioners can exchange ideas, research findings, and policy recommendations concerning the three pillars of sustainable development—economic, social, and environmental—with a specific focus on the role of women and gender equality amid the transformations taking place in Asia.

Priority Themes

While open to a broad range of topics, the conference particularly encourages submissions in the following areas:

  • Women’s roles in the digital, green, and circular economies

  • Digital transformation and innovation in women-led enterprises

  • Women entrepreneurship, digital and green finance

  • Women in business management, green consumption, and private sector development

2. Sustainable Social Development

  • Women in poverty alleviation, human development, and political participation

  • Equality in income and education, especially in STEM fields

  • Physical and mental health care for women

  • Women in labor migration and the preservation of cultural values

3. Sustainable Environmental Development

  • Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction

  • Ensuring environmental quality and managing natural resources

  • Women’s community responsibility in waste management and biodiversity conservation

Opportunities for International Publication

High-quality papers will be selected for publication in:

  • The International Conference Proceedings, published by a domestic or international academic publisher (tentatively Springer or Atlantis)

  • JABES – Vietnamese version (open access) and JABES English version (Scopus Q1), with a rigorous peer-review process

English-language submissions that meet academic standards—particularly those co-authored with international scholars—will be prioritized for JABES (English).

  • Deadline for Abstract Submission (in Vietnamese & English): July 21, 2025
    (Maximum 250 words; include 4 required elements: Purpose, Methodology, Key Findings, Originality; up to 6 keywords)

  • Full Paper Submission Deadline
    By 5:00 PM (GMT+7), September 20, 2025
    Maximum length: 6,000 words
    Format: Microsoft Word document
    Font: Times New Roman, size 12
    Citation style: APA 7th edition
    Text similarity index must not exceed 20%

  • Language: English or Vietnamese (English is strongly encouraged)

  • Participation Fees

    • Vietnamese-language paper: 1,000,000 VND per paper (≈ 40 USD)

    • English-language paper: 2,000,000 VND per paper (≈ 60 USD)

    • Fee waivers are available for: High-quality submissions selected for JABES, Authors affiliated with the Vietnam Women’s Academy

Academic Integrity and Research Ethics

Authors must:

  • Avoid simultaneous submissions and respect intellectual property rights

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest

  • Refrain from listing AI tools as authors

  • Maintain confidentiality during the editorial process

Ensure transparency by providing access to data, source code, and methodology, and comply with personal data protection regulations

The peer review committee consists of scholars from: the University of Auckland (New Zealand), the University of Macerata (Italy), Michigan State University (USA), the Australian National University, the University of Central Florida (USA), Parahyangan Catholic University (Indonesia), the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), as well as leading universities and research institutes in Vietnam.
