Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Recognizing the mounting pressures of environmental crises, climate change, and resource depletion on the sustainable development of the tourism industry, Van Hien University is convening an International Scientific Conference under the central theme: “Green Tourism and Solutions to Promote the Circular Economy.”
The conference serves not only as an academic forum but also as an urgent call for the transformation of tourism towards minimizing environmental impacts, respecting natural ecosystems, and strengthening social responsibility.

Strategic Objective: Turning Waste into Resources

In the context of escalating climate change and environmental crises, tourism—one of the fastest-growing sectors of the global economy—faces profound challenges related to resource management, waste treatment, and the mitigation of negative ecological impacts. Integrating tourism development with circular economy models is no longer optional but a strategic imperative, directed towards the goal of “transforming waste into resources” and contributing to the realization of sustainable development commitments at both national and international levels.

This international conference is envisioned as a multidimensional platform that brings together scholars, policymakers, and business representatives from across Southeast Asia to exchange insights, share experiences, and propose solutions for the integration of green tourism and circular economy practices.

The core mission of the conference is to enhance awareness of the intrinsic link between tourism development and environmental stewardship, while exploring practical pathways to align green tourism with circular economy models.
This strategy emphasizes waste-to-resource conversion, the promotion of production activities tied to reuse and responsible consumption, and the pursuit of sustainability for future generations.
