Call for Papers International Scientific Conference: “Cultural Industry with Sustainable Tourism Development in Vietnam in the Context of International Integration”

The Vietnam Association for Tourism Training (VITEA), in collaboration with the Cultural Tourism Talent Incubation Project, Chan Tam Tourism & Services Co., Ltd., and the International Institute in Geneva (IIG), is honored to co-organize the International Scientific Conference under the theme:
“Cultural Industry with Sustainable Tourism Development in Vietnam in the Context of International Integration.”

Objectives and Significance

The conference aims to provide an academic platform for knowledge exchange and practical discussion on enhancing the role of cultural industries in promoting sustainable tourism development. It seeks to contribute to policy directions and strategic pathways for fostering culture and sustainable tourism in Vietnam in the era of international integration.

Time and Venue

Date: October 30, 2025
Venue: Tam Chuc Spiritual and Cultural Tourism Complex, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam

Participants

The conference expects 100–150 participants, including:
Leaders from central government agencies (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam National Authority of Tourism; Vietnam Tourism Association).
Leaders of provincial Departments of Culture and Tourism.
Leaders of universities, tourism enterprises, international organizations, and approved individual registrants.
Institutes, academies, colleges, and tourism training centers nationwide.
The conference will be organized under a socialized model.
A participation fee will apply to accepted papers.

The conference welcomes papers addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:

Theme 1:

The Role of Cultural Industries in Sustainable Tourism Development in Vietnam
Value chain linkages between cultural industries and tourism in the context of international integration.
Contributions of cultural industries to sustainable tourism growth.
Key sectors in cultural industries (music, fine arts, design, handicrafts, performing arts, etc.) and their value creation for tourism.
Current situation and potential for developing cultural industries linked with tourism.
Models of value chain linkages among artists, creative enterprises, and tourism businesses.
International experiences in building culture–tourism value chains.

Theme 2

Local Cultural Resources for Creative Tourism Product Development and Heritage Conservation
Balancing conservation and exploitation.
Developing tourism products from tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The role of local communities in preserving and revitalizing cultural heritage.
Lessons from creative community-based tourism models.
Practices in cultural heritage management and utilization.

Theme 3

Developing High-Quality Cultural and Tourism Human Resources in the Digital Era
Competency requirements and standards for the cultural exchange and tourism workforce.
Current status of cultural industry training in universities.
Interdisciplinary training models and industry–academia cooperation.
Foreign language proficiency, digitalization, and soft skills for cultural–tourism human resources.

Theme 4

The Role of Performing Arts, Cinema, and Fashion in Attracting Tourists and Developing the Nighttime Economy
The appeal of contemporary and traditional art performances.
Potential of art forms, culinary experiences, and nighttime entertainment.
Models of walking streets, night markets, and creative nighttime spaces.
Urban management and public security in nighttime tourism.
Market regulation and lifestyle rhythms in developing the nighttime economy.

Theme 5

International Cooperation in Developing Cultural Industries and Tourism in Vietnam

Bilateral and multilateral cooperation models in cultural and tourism product development.
Technology transfer and knowledge sharing from countries with advanced cultural industries.
Building a national brand through cultural industries and tourism.
Startup ecosystems in the field of cultural industries and tourism.
Sustainable development of tourism models.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract submission deadline: August 25, 2025
Abstract length: maximum 350 words (in both English and Vietnamese)
Notification of acceptance: within 15 days of submission
Full paper submission deadline: September 25, 2025

Requirements for Papers

Papers must follow the standards of a scientific research article.
Language: Vietnamese or English
The title must be written in uppercase letters, bold font, size 14.
Length: 5,000 words, A4 paper size, Times New Roman, font size 13, 1.5 line spacing, margins: top 2 cm, bottom 2 cm, left 3 cm
Abstracts and keywords: Maximum 350 words in both English and Vietnamese, with 3–5 keywords
References: APA 7th edition citation style; references listed at the end of the paper
Author information: Full name, academic title, degree, institutional affiliation, email, and contact number must be clearly indicated
Originality: Papers must not have been published or submitted elsewhere simultaneously

Review and Publication

All submissions will undergo independent peer review. Accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings, published by a reputable publisher with ISBN registration. Manuscripts not accepted will not be returned.
