The University of Commerce (Vietnam), in collaboration with the Institute for South Asian, West Asian, and African Studies (ISAWAAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, and with the participation of several embassies of Islamic countries in Hanoi, cordially invites submissions to the upcoming International Scientific Conference:
“Developing Vietnam’s Halal Economy and Trade in the Current Context”
The conference is scheduled to take place in mid-March 2025 at the University of Commerce, serving as a vital academic forum that brings together scientists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and diplomats from both Vietnam and abroad to exchange perspectives on the potential, challenges, and strategic solutions for promoting Vietnam’s Halal economy.
Conference Objectives
- To foster academic dialogue on theories, models, and practices related to the development of the Halal economy.
- To assess the current state, trends, and international experiences of Halal market development and draw lessons for Vietnam.
- To propose strategic policy recommendations for effectively leveraging Vietnam’s potential in the global Halal market during the international integration process.
Call for Papers
The Organizing Committee warmly welcomes submissions from academics, experts, policymakers, and business professionals. Suggested (but not limited to) topics include:
- Theoretical frameworks and models for Halal economic and trade development
- Global trends and international experiences: lessons for Vietnam
- Policies, institutions, and national strategies for Vietnam’s Halal market
- The current status and development of the Halal economic ecosystem in Vietnam
- Other relevant topics related to Halal business, governance, certification, and market access

Language: Vietnamese or English
Maximum length: 10,000 words
